RAPID CITY, SD -
Late South Dakota School of Mines and Technology President Robert Wharton will be remembered during an outdoor memorial service on campus.
The school says the service is at 2 p.m. Monday at the Campus Quadrangle.
Wharton died Wednesday of complications from earlier cancer treatments. He was 60 years old.
Wharton had been the school's president since July 2008. Provost Duane Hrncir (HURN'-suhr) has been named acting president.
