KELOLAND TV's parent company, Media General, Inc., announced Friday it will merge with LIN Media LLC.
This merger creates the second largest television broadcasting company in the United States. It will own, operate and service 74 stations across 46 markets, reaching nearly 26.5 million households and 23 percent of the country.
This new company will take Media General's name and remain headquartered in Richmond, Virginia.
Media General President and Chief Executive Officer George L. Mahoney says this merger is a game-changing opportunity for both companies.
