SIOUX FALLS, SD -

Hundreds of people from across the country are making their way to Sioux Falls to reflect on the life of a former senator.

A viewing will be held for George McGovern at the First United Methodist Church in Sioux Falls.  It starts at 1 p.m. and goes until 6 p.m.  Family will be present from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m.  An hour before the viewing, people were already waiting to get into the event.

If you plan to go or even travel in the area, you need to be aware of several roadblocks in the area.  Police have blocked off 12th Street west of Minnesota Avenue all the way past the church, which is at 12th Street and S Spring Avenue.

A prayer service is scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m., which you can watch live on KELOLAND TV, MyUTV and KELOLAND.com.  We will return to network programming on KELO TV at 7 p.m. as the prayer service continues on MyUTV and KELOLAND.com.  It is expected to last 90 minutes.  Vice President Joe Biden is among the people scheduled to speak during the prayer service.

Family, friends and former colleagues will say their final goodbyes to McGovern Friday.

A funeral is scheduled for 1 p.m. at the Washington Pavilion in Sioux Falls.  You can watch it live on KELOLAND TV, My UTV and KELOLAND.com.  That is also expected to last 90 minutes.
