Augustana is ranked third in the first set of regional men's basketball rankings released by the NCAA on Wednesday.
Augustana is in the Central Region, which consists of teams from the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference, the Great American Conference (GAC) and the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association (MIAA). The top eight teams in the final rankings will earn a spot in the NCAA Central Region Tournament.
Augustana is 18-6 on the season and is currently in fourth-place in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference standings with a record of 14-6.
Augustana is one of six NSIC schools to appear in the regional rankings with No. 1 Winona State, No. 2 Minnesota State, No. 4 St. Cloud State, No. 9 Southwest Minnesota State and No. 10 Upper Iowa. The GAC and MIAA both have two teams ranked this week. No. 5 Harding and No. 7 Arkansas Tech represent the GAC and No. 6 Central Missouri and No. 8 Fort Hays State, represent the MIAA.
Augustana will close-out the regular season this weekend hosting Upper Iowa on Friday. Feb. 22 and Winona State on Saturday, Feb. 23.
