MBK: Augustana Releases 2014-15 Schedule

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Augustana men's basketball head coach Tom Billeter has announced the 2014-15 schedule which features one exhibition game, six non-conference games and a 22-game Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference slate.

The Vikings are scheduled to play 14 home games and will open the season on Saturday, Nov. 8 with an exhibition contest against Wisconsin-River Falls starting at 6 p.m. at the Elmen Center. Augustana will then turn its attention to the Sanford Pentagon Basketball Showcase and two regional opponents in Washburn University and Pittsburg State.

Augustana and Washburn will tip-off from the Sanford Pentagon at 8 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 14 before the Vikings take on Pittsburg State at 8 p.m. on Saturday. Augustana will then play five straight home games, including its NSIC opener on Nov. 24.

The homestand begins with three straight non-conference games, starting with Mayville State on Nov. 17, at the Elmen Center at 7 p.m. The Vikings will then play their first doubleheader at the Sioux Falls Arena on Nov. 19, taking on Dakota State at 8 p.m. Augustana hosts Presentation on Nov. 22 at a time yet to be determined before opening the NSIC schedule hosting Wayne State at the Arena on Monday, Nov. 24 at 8 p.m.

Augustana will conclude its non-conference schedule against Valley City State at the Elmen Center on Wednesday, Nov. 26 at 7 p.m.

The Vikings will leave Sioux Falls for the first time of the season on Dec. 5-6 to take on Minnesota State and Concordia-St. Paul. Augustana returns home Dec. 12-13 to host Bemidji State and Minnesota Crookston before closing-out the calendar year at Wayne State on Dec. 20.

Following the holiday break, Augustana will hit the ground running with a rivalry game against USF at the Stewart Center with a half a point in the First Dakota Mayor's Cup Challenge on the line. The Vikings will then take on Southwest Minnesota State in Marshall, Minn. on Saturday, Jan. 3.

Concordia-St. Paul and Minnesota State will pay a return visit to Sioux Falls on Jan. 9-10 with the Vikings taking on the Golden Bears at 8 p.m. on Friday and the Mavericks at 6 p.m. on Saturday at the Arena. Augustana then heads north to take on St. Cloud State and Minnesota Duluth on Jan. 16-17.

Winona State and Upper Iowa will visit the Arena on Jan. 23-24 with the Vikings and Warriors tipping-off at 8 p.m. on Friday before the Vikings take on the Peacocks at 6 p.m. on Saturday.

For the second straight year, Augustana will make the trek to Bismarck and Minot, N.D. on Jan. 30-31 to take on U-Mary and Minot State. The Vikings then return to Sioux Falls to close-out the home portion of the schedule with four straight games at the Arena. Augustana welcomes Northern State and MSU Moorhead on Feb. 6-7 and Southwest Minnesota State and USF on Feb. 13-14.

Augustana will conclude the regular season on the road taking on Upper Iowa and Winona State Feb. 20-21.

The NSIC/Sanford Health Men's Basketball Tournament begins at home sites on Feb. 25, with the top four seeds from each division hosting. The quarterfinals, semifinals and finals will be held at the Sanford Pentagon Feb. 28 through March 3.
