The Sioux Falls election on April 8th is fast approaching, and city candidates took to the podium at Carnegie Hall tonight to answer voter questions.
A candidate’s forum was organized by the Sioux Falls Chamber of Commerce and the League of Women Voters. The event started with mayoral candidates, incumbent Mike Huether and challenger Greg Jamison. Both answered questions about affordable housing, their plans to improve city roads and what qualities make them the best choice for mayor.
"The Mayor's office needs to work very hard at providing solid leadership, but as well, providing that confidence and trust in government, to let everyone know that we're working for the people," Jamison said.
"What I've always done is I make sure my head, my heart and my gut are focused on the people of Sioux Falls. That's how I've done my decisions in the past and that's how I'll always do them," Huether said.
The Chamber of Commerce and the League of Women Voters are also sponsoring a school board candidate forum next Thursday at the Instructional Planning Center starting at 6:30. It will feature current school board member Doug Morrison and challenger Roger Russel the second.
