May Outlook: Cold And Rainy

SIOUX FALLS, SD -
April was the fifth month in a row with below average temperatures, and a lot of people are hoping the cooler-than-normal trend will finally come to an end.
To find an answer, the first place to look is the jet stream pattern. Over the next couple of weeks, the jet will become more active as it continues to waffle north and south. So be prepared for possible wild temperature swings, but most days will be below average.
There is a chance at some above average temperatures by the middle of the month, but they'll immediately following will be a chance of stormy weather.
Unfortunately, the chances for rain will remain steady and it could end up being another above average month for rain. Something a lot of us can do without.
