Many Still Working On Getting Hail Damage Repaired

Many Still Working On Getting Hail Damage Repaired
SIOUX FALLS, SD -

It's been a little over a month since the first round of hail damage hit many parts of KELOLAND, but the process of assessing and fixing people's cars is far from over.

When hail or any other type of disaster affects a lot of people, a traveling team of State Farm workers open a central location to assist customers.

The Catastrophe Center is located in the parking lot of Lowes in Sioux Falls, and has been open seven days a week from seven in the morning until seven at night since the first round of hail damage hit on June 5.

“They're directed into the first tent, that's where we do our inspections. And as soon as the inspection part is over, they go have a seat in our customer waiting area, and when the estimate's ready, we go over the estimate with our insurers, and then we go ahead and process the paperwork and issue a draft,” Brenda Martin with State Farm said.

Martin estimates the catastrophe handles around 250 claims each day.

We'll have more on how people feel about the process tonight on KELOLAND News at 10.
