Wanted fugitive Larry Zamora Junior is in the Minnehaha County Jail after the Sheriff's Department caught him Friday afternoon.
The County Fugitive Task Force found Zamora at an apartment on West Norma Trail in Sioux Falls. When law enforcement arrived, Zamora tried to tear through a wall into an adjacent unit. A neighbor tipped authorities off to that and they were waiting for Zamora once he cut through the wall. He went back to the first unit and tried to kick out a window. He eventually got to the roof and a short standoff began.
A police dog and Task Force members negotiated with Zamora to get him off the roof.
Investigators received tips that Zamora got a large shipment of methamphetamine in January, but when authorities raided his apartment last week, he got away.
He was taken to the Minnehaha County Jail and arrested on an outstanding warrant of possession of a controlled drug, possession of marijuana, possession of paraphernalia and obstructing a police officer.
