A 68-year-old Virginia man accused of disrupting a flight he boarded in South Dakota has pleaded not guilty to a federal charge of interfering with flight crew members and attendants.
Kennedy Runner, of Hopewell, Va., is accused of threatening passengers, flight crew members and police after boarding a plane in Rapid City in late March. Court documents allege that Runner threatened to kill several passengers as the plane taxied toward the runway, so the pilot returned the plane to the terminal.
Runner also allegedly threatened to kill officers who boarded the plane to remove him.
The charge against him carries a maximum punishment of 20 years in prison. Runner appeared in court late last week and pleaded not guilty. He's ordered held without bond.
