Nineteen-year-old Dwight Ree is facing 25 years in prison for beating a 20-year-old man to death in a Sioux Falls alley.
Ree will be sentenced Thursday afternoon for his role in the beating death of 20-year-old Geu Ayuel after pleading guilty to manslaughter.
Twenty-three-year-old Jerome Ewing will be sentenced Friday for the same crime.
Ree and Ewing have admitted to drinking with Ayuel in June 2011 at a home in central Sioux Falls. The three left to get cigarettes and at some point the two started fighting and hitting Ayuel. They killed him by stomping on him, choking him, and hitting him with rocks. They then tried to cover up the evidence by burning Ayuel.
Ree is facing 25 years in prison for the crime and Ewing is facing 40 years in prison.
We will be in the courtroom and have details on the sentencing on KELOLAND News at 5 and 6.
