Alcohol may have played a role in a hit and run crash involving a pedestrian Tuesday evening in central Sioux Falls.
It happened shortly before 7:30 p.m. near 12th Street and Spring Avenue. Witnesses say it appeared that the driver of a red pickup hit the person on purpose and then drove off. The suspect later turned himself in at the law enforcement center, where he was arrested and charged with driving while under the influence and aggravated assault.
The pedestrian was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.
