PIERRE, SD -
An Eagle Butte man accused in the nonfatal shooting of a Pierre police officer during a standoff has been charged with six felony gun-related charges.
Federal authorities say they've been looking for 27-year-old Jason Todd Garreau since Wednesday when another man was shot and killed during a shootout with authorities near Fort Thompson following a vehicle chase.
The FBI released few other details.
Pierre police say Garreau barricaded himself in a trailer home for about nine hours Thursday and a police officer was shot and wounded during the standoff.
The officer was treated at a hospital and released.
Garreau was arrested just after midnight Friday and made an initial court appearance later in the day in federal court.
A judge ordered a court-appointed lawyer for him.
