Madison Waiting For More Information

MADISON, SD -
The town of Madison is on edge Wednesday evening. As the community mourns a retired teacher and volunteer, authorities continue to search for a gunman.
72-year-old Norm Johnson was shot and killed outside his home around 7:30 last night. Nearly 24-hours later, the community is wondering why and whether anyone else is in danger.
KELOLAND News was live in Madison, waiting for an update from Police.
What's unusual about this case is the amount of time it has taken to release information to the public.
Even though just Tuesday night people in Madison were told stay inside and not answer the door, the city seems to be going about normal business on Wednesday. Classes at the university resumed as well, which is not far from the crime scene.
Officers are still on the scene near Memorial Park and it continues to be taped off.
