MITCHELL, SD -
A lottery ticket sold in Mitchell is worth $30,000.
South Dakota lottery officials say the ticket is a winner in last Friday's Mega Millions drawing. The winner has about six months to claim the money. The ticket matched four of five white ball numbers and the Mega Ball to win the game's $10,000 third prize, and the ticket buyer also purchased the Megaplier option that tripled the amount.
The odds of winning the $10,000 prize are one in about 689,000. Mega Millions is played in most states, the District of Columbia and the U.S. Virgin Islands. The jackpot sits at $72 million.
