There will be a Republican primary in South Dakota's governor's race next spring.
Former Republican state legislator Lora Hubbel says she will formally announce her candidacy to run against Governor Dennis Daugaard on Monday.
Hubbel sent an email to South Dakota media Thursday night saying she will make her official announcement on Monday in Sioux Falls and in Rapid City on Tuesday.
Hubbel served as a State Representative from Sioux Falls in the 2011 and 2012 legislative sessions. She also ran against state senator Deb Peters and lost in the 2012 primary.
Hubbel is opposed to the Affordable Care Act and the new common core education standards.
Hubbel will officially announce her run on Monday afternoon at 12 p.m. at the downtown Sioux Falls Library.
She is also planning an event at the Alex Johnson Hotel in Rapid City Tuesday and a meet and greet at the capitol in Pierre later in the day.
Hubbel has also already launched a website for her campaign.
