Halloween is a time for getting scared and the Fear Factory in Corson is looking to become a new Halloween tradition, while scaring up some money for the community.
People that come to the Fear Factory will be treated to an indoor maze full of blood, dead bodies and actors ready to jump out at you. There is also an outdoor maze.
The Haunted House's creator Michael Gross believes anyone that steps through the door will be scared.
"We want to put on a production. This isn't just some Joe Schmo putting a Haunted House in his garage," Gross said.
While the house is there to make people jump and scream, it also is raising money for charity and non-profit organizations in the area, including the Backpack Program.
"They're so many organizations that need money. The Backpack Program here in Brandon, they have very little funding, they're almost out of money and if that doesn't continue, whose going to do it? They're lots of people out there that need food on the weekends," Gross said.
Other groups that are benefiting from the scares are a church youth group that will be running concessions at the event and there will be t-shirt sales that go to Garretson Schools for events such as after-prom parties. Gross knows how important supporting the area is.
"We want to help out his community, anybody that needs help out there. That's kind of what we're looking for. We want to help out, we want to give back, this is our chance," Gross said.
And the Fear Factory wants to do something else important, they want to make Halloween fun and do something this area has never seen before.
"Halloween is a great holiday. It's so much fun, not many people do stuff out here for Halloween, because it is such a big chore to be able to build a big Haunted House, and production like this," Gross said.
The cost of the event is $7. The days the house will be going are October 18th, 19th, 25th, 26th and Halloween night from 7 p.m. 10:30 p.m.
For kids that are not old enough yet to enjoy a haunted house, they have something for you too with a family fun day October 26th from 4 p.m. until 6:30 p.m.
Gross workings with the Jesse James players to put on this haunted house. This is the seventh year the Jesse James players had sponsored a haunted house for charity.
