Linda Daugaard To Host Second Annual Book Walk
PIERRE, SD -

On Monday August 11, First Lady Linda Daugaard will hold the second annual book walk for children.

The walk will be held in the backyard of the Governor’s Mansion at 6:30 p.m. with children in kindergarten through second grade invited to attend. Those children who do attend must be accompanied by an adult.

The walk will last about a half hour with Snow Day by Ezra Jack Keates and It Looks Like Spilt Milk by Charles Shaw as the featured books.

According the First Lady, the book walk is an opportunity for kids to get encouraged about reading while also getting a chance to get out and exercise.

Those who participate will walk around Capitol Lake and stop at different stations to read bits of Snow Day. On the inside driveway of the Mansion will be It Looks Like Spilt Milk for the younger readers.
