SIOUX FALLS, SD -
Lawmakers from districts 11, 12 and 15 who are home for the weekend met at the Holiday Day Inn in downtown Sioux Falls for the third legislative coffee this session on Saturday.
Legislatures from both sides met and answered questions regarding several bills from both the Senate and House.
One topic getting a lot of talk was economic development and Wind Energy incentives.
“It seems to me that this would be a very appropriate way to go forward in this area. We need to get beyond fossil fuels," Rep. Karen Soli said.
“Wind works 35 percent of the time, approximately, if I remember the number right. Can you build a line to a tower that's only going to work 3 and a half days a week at the most?” Rep. Hal Wick said.
The next legislative coffee is on February 23. Lawmakers from Districts 6, 9, 13 and 14 will be there to answer questions.
