Larry The Cable Guy Sponsors Terry McCarl

May 17, 2012, 10:10 PM by Matt Holsen

Larry The Cable Guy Sponsors Terry McCarl

The all-time winning driver at Huset's Speedway, Terry McCarl, has been in the business for more than two decades and he knows in order to keep his expensive rides on the track, you need some good sponsors.

Recently McCarl hooked up with someone you might know and it's a saucy relationship he hopes to develop into something more.

McCarl recently inked a three year deal with Larry the Cable Guy’s ‘Lord I Apologize Barbeque Sauce.’

It's a deal he'd been working on for eight months and he's excited to finally be partnering with the famous face.

"[He’s a] great guy to be associated with. Everybody likes him. He's a funny guy and a good clean guy. Hopefully we can keep him in sprint car racing for a long time," McCarl said.

Along with the barbeque sauce's logo adorning McCarl’s sprint car, his trailer at every race will be stocked with the product.

While he hasn't met Larry the Cable Guy just yet, he hopes to soon and he's glad a friend of his helped spark a deal between the two sides.

"[A] friend of mine is a friend of the gentleman who created the barbeque sauce. It's excellent barbeque sauce. He went to Larry the Cable Guy; a couple of his friends handle all his merchandising. He sold him on the idea. It's great barbeque,” McCarl said. “I look forward to meeting him. I almost got a chance to meet him in January but it fell through. Hopefully we can get him out to a race sometime."

The sponsorship is just a minor one for now, but McCarl thinks it could grow into something bigger.

Until then, every little bit helps as he continues to live the dream.

"It's just a great family affair for us now. We're able to have Austin and Carson racing and Lori with us all the time. For us it's a great family thing, it's a great family deal for anybody who comes out here. We just look forward to staying in it forever I hope," McCarl said.

A portion of the sales of ‘Lord I Apologize Barbeque Sauce’ will go to Larry the Cable Guy's Git-R-Done Foundation to benefit children and veterans in need.
