Fire departments from at least nine southwest Minnesota communities are trying to contain a large fire that's threatening a state park.
The fire is burning in and near Camden State Park, which is just south of Marshall. Crews in the southwest area of the park are monitoring land that has already been burned. But that's just one of many areas where firefighters are at work.
The Forest Department happened to be in Marshall Monday afternoon, so it is also helping fight the fire. In addition, a helicopter was working from the air to put the fire out.
Firefighters are trying to put out hot spots and make sure it doesn't flare up again.
