On Friday night, you might want to consider going to a fashion show that will help support a good cause.
L Couture Boutique and Icon Lounge are hosting the event at Icon Lounge on Friday. Lori Dykstra, owner of L Couture Boutique, originally started her store out of her home. It was online only. Since her business kept growing, they decided to open up a store in Sioux Falls.
Lori lost her son, Jakob, to cancer about ten years ago. Because of all the support her family received from the Children's Miracle Network, she's giving back. All the proceeds raised Friday night will benefit Cure Kids Cancer, as well as the Jakob Beier Fund
“A lot of the times, you see the family members who are going through this now with their children, their involved in these fundraisers and in fact, some of our models in the fashion show this weekend are some of the Cure Kids Cancer moms. So their kids are battling cancer right now and they are taking their time to do this because they feel it's so important,” Dykstra said.
Along with the fashion show, there will be several other vendors that will donate a percentage of their profits to support Cure Kids Cancer, as well as the Jakob Beier Fund.
The vendors will be there at 6 p.m. The Vendors include, Vi Bella, which is a jewelry line that’s hand crafted from women in Haiti, Erin’s Crunchy Corner, which sells all natural body and beauty products, Art By April, Nerium, which is a skin care line, Origami Owl, which is another jewelry line and Scentsy by Sarah Ihnen will also be there.
The fashion show starts at 7 p.m. and will feature L Couture’s spring collection.
L Couture Boutique is located 2524 South Louise Avenue. The grand opening will take place on Saturday, April 5.
