Kristi Noem Gives Acceptance Speech

Kristi Noem Gives Acceptance Speech
Kristi Noem

SIOUX FALLS, SD -

After winning the lone seat in the U.S. House of Representatives, Kristi Noem says she thanks the people of South Dakota for giving her another two years to represent them in Washington, D.C.

“I want each and every South Dakotan out there to know that I will continue to represent you with the same passion and commitment that I have the last two years,” Noem said.

Noem thanks her family for the support they’ve given her in this race and many others.

“We are South Dakota people who recognize that we need some South Dakota common sense in Washington D.C.,” Noem said.

Noem also thanks all of her volunteers for helping with her campaign, whether that was putting up signs, knocking on doors and making phone calls.

Noem thanks U.S. Senator John Thune for his support. She says Thune leads by example and has also given her great advice as a congresswoman. She says she is very glad that he spent the night campaigning for her.

“Senator Thune has been such a great example of leadership for us,” Noem said.

Noem says she also thanks her opponent Matt Varilek. Noem shared a phone call with Varilek after the results were in.

Noem says she’ll work to manage the debt crisis in Washington D.C. And she says she’ll also work to get a farm bill done and end the death tax.

“I want to speak to every single South Dakotan today. I know that not every one in South Dakota voted for me tonight. I know what there are a lot of Republicans, Democrats and Independents across the state and I want you to know that maybe while you didn’t vote for me, I still represent you,” Noem said.

Noem says Washington D.C. may be a wreck now, but she’s optimistic about the future.
