State Senator Shantel Krebs announced on Saturday, September 21, that she will be seeking the Republican nomination for the office of South Dakota Secretary of State in 2014.
Krebs intentions were revealed in a speech at the Lincoln County Lincoln-Reagan Day dinner in Tea. She cited the need for the public’s full faith and confidence in the Secretary of States office.
Krebs is set to complete her tenth year in the South Dakota Legislature, serving three terms in the House and two in the Senate. While there, she has held leadership positions in both chambers as well as chairing both the Transportation and Agriculture committees.
Delegates to the party’s convention in Rapid City next June will determine the Republican nominee for Secretary of State.
