KPLO-TV Back On The Air
March 19, 2010, 2:54 PM
KPLO-TV viewers, who receive their signal over the air, are getting our programming Friday afternoon for the first time since January 22, when an ice storm knocked down our tower.
The FCC granted permission to transmit from the tower Friday and KPLO signed back on the air at 1:56 pm.
The temporary structure on Medicine Butte is 330 feet tall. KELOLAND-TV engineers estimate the signal from the temporary tower covers 70 percent of the coverage area previously reached by the permanent tower. Plans for a permanent tower are underway.
Cable and satellite viewers were not affected by the tower collapse.
