School is out for the summer and camps are underway. The Fellowship of Christian Athletes in Sioux Falls is offering a different take on summer activities.
Energy is a big part of the requirement at the FCA All Sport Camp where kids are "all in" this summer. Nine-year-old Brock Kruger, a lover of tennis and hockey, couldn't wait to get started.
"I was pretty excited and I love sports. I like any sports. I love getting active," Kruger said.
The camp goes every weekday until August 8 and features training in about every sport you can imagine.
"A new sport every week. We're also doing some review sports, so some fun sports throughout the week. Lots of moving, lots of going," Josh Thomas said.
"Yeah, I like seeing the variety. I like all kinds of sports. Soccer, football; I like to play all those," Kruger said.
While kids learn to dribble and pass, the camp is not all about sports; kids also learn life lessons.
From daily devotions to developing sportsmanship and character building, it's much more than just sports for these 1st-6th graders.
"To show them that whatever you do that you can be the best person you can be. Really just show that through faith and show that through sports. We're really excited about that through FCA this summer," Thomas said.
The camp is $115 per week for full time enrollment and $75 for part-time. One camp is located in Sioux Falls while another is available in Brandon.
