KELOLAND Reacts As Fiscal Cliff Looms

December 31, 2012, 5:01 PM by Stephanie Gregory

KELOLAND Reacts As Fiscal Cliff Looms
SIOUX FALLS, SD -

As lawmakers struggle to reach an agreement, people in KELOLAND seem to be on the same page. They're tired of waiting for Washington and they aren't keeping their opinions quiet.

No matter what you call it, most people have something to say about it.

“We have exponential debt.  We have problems that are unsolvable. There are things that are a predicament and there are problems," Mike Mitchell said.

"I'm not worried about the fiscal cliff all that much. I think this great country is going to go on just very much like it has been," Gloria Pruitt said.

Lawmakers on both sides of the aisle have taken their time coming to a deal and South Dakotans are tired of waiting.

"Get some compromise.  I think that's the most important thing. We need to move on," Steven Holden said.

“I want to see our Congress people come together to make decisions," Kathleen Holden said.

"You would think that they would come to an agreement so I'm disappointed in all of them," Pruitt said.

Politicians are frustrated a decision hasn't been reached and so are their constituents.

“I think it's time for them to start making decisions based on the good of the country rather than political games and power," Kathleen Holden said.

“Who's going to win? I think it's the two political parties going after each other as usual and I think it's not good for the country," Steven Holden said.

“I think if we could get them all out and put in a new patch then we'd be better off," Pruitt said.
