KELOLAND Couple Finalists For Dream Wedding

March 31, 2014, 5:05 PM by Leland Steva

KELOLAND Couple Finalists For Dream Wedding
BROOKINGS, SD -

One KELOLAND couple captured a "high profile" engagement on camera. Now they're looking to turn that video into a designer wedding worth more than $50,000.

Paige Peiper and Brady Krumwiede spent Christmas down in Mexico. On their last day, Peiper got on a parasail to enjoy the view of the beach or so she thought. Instead, she and her fiancé went on a ride that hasn't ended yet.

As Peiper flies through the air, Krumwiede and his family scramble to write a question in the sand that could change both of their lives. When Peiper came back around the beach, she saw an unexpected message written in the sand, asking her to marry Krumwiede.

"I saw that and I absolutely freaked out and then I had to land the parasail like 30 seconds later," Peiper said.

With all the romance on video, the couple's engagement has been seen by friends and family.

"Everyone I've talked to said that they cry when they watch it," Peiper said.

"They think it's a cool experience too with it making this video, being able to capture the engagement the way we did," Krumwiede said.

Now, this video may make their special day even more special. After changing their relationship statuses on Facebook, the bride and groom-to-be saw an ad for a contest involving engagements caught on video. They submitted their video and are now one of 15 finalists in the running for a designer wedding at a country club in Arizona. People can go to the Facebook page and vote for their favorite video. The couple who gets the most votes gets a dream wedding.

"Having that big of a budget to work with, it's something you don't get every day around here and I think it would be a really great experience," Peiper said.

"It would be cool to be able to give her that experience and what she dreams of when she was a little girl as every girl does. Being able to actually give her that, me being a broke college kid, it's not really in the budget," Krumwiede said.

The college sweethearts say they'll enjoy their big day no matter what, but they say this prize would top off an unforgettable time in their lives.

The couple says they have a backup plan of a wedding in Peiper's hometown of Brandon.

You can vote once a day for your favorite video. The deadline to vote is Wednesday. If you would like to vote, click here.
