KELO-TV Partnering With Humane Society For Food Drive

Local TV news is going to the dogs. KELO-TV is hosting its third-annual Take Your Dog To Work Day tomorrow and its employees are encouraged to invite their four-legged friends along to work.

KELO-TV, 501 S. Phillips Avenue, is collecting Purina-brand pet food for the Sioux Falls Humane Society. From 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., employees will be in front of the station accepting food and money donations. Donations can be dropped off any time before 4 p.m. in the lobby.

"It's important for people to donate to the Sioux Falls Humane Society because we depend on it," Sioux Falls Humane Society volunteer Alma Sehovic said. "We could use those funds we were originally going to spend on the food for something more important."

Last year, the event raised over 2,000 pounds of food and $825 in cash donations. KELO-TV hopes to raise over 3,000 pounds this year.

All proceeds will go directly to the Sioux Falls Humane Society. Food donations must be manufactured by Purina.
