KELO SportsZone: HS Boy's Basketball Championship Preview

It’s the boys turn in the State Basketball Championships.

Huron draws the top spot in Class AA with a 19-1 record. They will face a Sioux Falls Lincoln team that went 8-12 on the season. Rapid City Stevens comes in at number two with a 17-3 record. The Raiders will take on the seventh seeded Scoopers of Sturgis Brown (12-8). At the three spot is Sioux Falls Roosevelt (17-3). The Rough Riders will face Yankton (12-8) in the first round. Rounding out the bracket are the fourth and fifth seeds, Pierre T.F. Riggs (17-3) and Sioux Falls Washington (11-9).

Class AA Tournament In Rapid City, Thursday, March 20
First Round
12:00 p.m. MT #1 Huron vs. # 8 Lincoln
1:45 p.m. MT #4 Pierre T.F. Riggs vs. #5 SF Washington
6:00 p.m. MT #2 RC Stevens vs. #7 Sturgis Brown
7:45 p.m. MT #3 SF Roosevelt vs. #6 Yankton

In Class A, the Madison Bulldogs grab the top spot with a perfect 20-0 record. They will face a 9-11 Tri-Valley team. Coming in at the second spot is Pine Ridge at 18-2 and will take on the Tea Area Titans (12-8). At number three is Sioux Valley with a 17-3 record. They will face a 15-5 Sisseton team. Finally, Cheyenne-Eagle Butte (17-3) and St. Thomas More (14-6) round out the first round.

First Round
12:00 p.m. CT #1 Madison vs. #8 Tri-Valley
1:45 p.m. CT #4 Cheyenne-Eagle Butte vs. #5 St. Thomas More
6:00 p.m. CT #2 Pine Ridge vs. #7 Tea Area
7:45 p.m. CT #3 Sioux Valley vs. #6 Sisseton

James Valley Christian takes the top spot in Class B. The Vikings come into the tournament with a 19-1 record and will face Centerville (14-6). At number two is Langford Area (18-2). The Lions first round game is against 14-6 Platte-Geddes. Coming in at the third spot is White River (16-4) and will take on the 17-3 Rustlers from Ethan. The Class B bracket concludes with number four Faith (16-3) and number five Potter County (18-2).

12:00 p.m. CT #1 James Valley Christian vs. #8 Centerville
1:45 p.m. CT #4 Faith vs. #5 Potter County
6:00 p.m. CT #2 Langford Area vs. #7 Platte-Geddes
7:45 p.m. CT #3 White River vs. #6 Ethan
