SIOUX FALLS, SD -
This month, KELOLAND TV has been focusing on feeding the need in South Dakota. And when we asked our viewers to help by dropping off food donations, viewers did more than we could've ever imagined.
Friday was a major success to say the least; right outside our doors at the station you all kept bringing bags and bags of food. So, before putting them in the bin, we made sure to weigh them.
Not only that, but we had to have Feeding South Dakota drop off more bins throughout the day.
By the end of the day, we had more than 5,000 pounds of food. The amount of money donated equaled more than 27,000 pounds of food, making the total collected more than 32,000 pounds. That is enough for more than 26,000 meals.
