Keeping Your Workout Resolution

January 1, 2014, 5:15 PM by Stephanie Gregory

Keeping Your Workout Resolution

As 2014 rolls in, many people will roll onto treadmills across KELOLAND. Going to the gym and working out is one of the most popular New Year resolutions. If you are swiping that gym membership card this year Rachel Breidenbach, a senior exercise specialist at Sanford Wellness Center, has some tips.

"Start off slow and figure out what your goals are, if it is to start exercising, start off slow and do some light strength training," Breidenbach said.

Breidenbach says if you often hit the gym and want to reach new levels this year find a new exercise program to start.

One of the most important things to keep you on track this year, work out with a partner or find a group to join.

"Getting a work out buddy if you have a hard time getting to the gym to work out on your own so you have some accountability and motivation," Breidenbach said.

But, most importantly if you maintain a healthy diet and keep your exercise routine you will have the best results.
