Keep Safety In Mind When Heating Your Home

With the cold temperatures outside, you are likely looking to stay warm inside. 

The Rapid City Fire Department says heating fires make up 36 percent of residential home fires in rural areas each year.  The misuse of wood stoves, portable space heaters and kerosene heaters are especially common risks. 

Be sure to give heating equipment space.  Keep anything that can burn at least three feet away.
