Jumping High For Fitness

Getting in a workout can seem like a lot of work, but a fitness class in Sioux Falls has people turning a workout in fun.

It might seem like all fun and games, but Sky Robics classes are actually a great workout.

"It's something different all the time," class participant Sara Buehler said.

Throughout the class, participants stretch, jump and run intervals.

“You are working your legs, your arms and your core. You are doing so many different things," Buehler said.

Fitness director Betsy Weber says she tries to make every class a little different.

"You should always add something different into your workouts. If you start doing the same thing, your body gets used to it," Weber said.

During the one hour class, Weber says you can burn up to 1,000 calories.

"I've done heart rate monitor before and done over 1,000. I would say typical is 600 to 700," Weber said.

Weber warns that everyone should take the class at their own pace to prevent injuries. Also, there's a variety of classes. Some are for beginners. Others are for those who are experienced on the trampoline.

"It's intense and pretty hard the first two or three times. After that, your body starts to get a little more used to it," Weber said.

Buehler is a class regular. She says if you're looking for a non-workout workout, this is the right activity for you.

"You are having fun. You don't really realize that you are working out," Buehler said.

The Sky Robics classes are at Sky Zone Indoor Trampoline Park. It costs $10 a class or you can buy a monthly pass for $60.
