A competition is encouraging aspiring entrepreneurs to dream big.
Tuesday is the final day of competition for The Governor's Giant Vision Business and Student Business Competition. These new business ventures are competing for a top prize of $20,000. Students are vying for a $5,000 first place prize for the best business idea.
One group, which has an idea to help retain medical professionals in South Dakota, says this competition is good for the state.
"It's a brilliant idea, instead of bringing businesses in, is to build them up here. We've got these heart-ties; that community, where we know where we're coming from. We know the needs and it has been a wonderful benefit to any student and business people to start internally and build out," competitor Ashley Kingdon-Reese with Independent Health Solutions said.
The Giant Vision event is part of the Governor's Office of Economic Development annual conference in Sioux Falls. Judges will select winners Tuesday night.
