A judge has again ruled that a 17-year-old Pierre boy charged with murder in the shooting death of a friend should be tried as an adult.
Judge John Brown made the ruling after a one-hour hearing Tuesday afternoon in Pierre.
Braiden McCahren has pleaded not guilty in the December 2012 shooting death of 16-year-old Dalton Williams. McCahren was 16 at the time of the shooting, which took place in his home.
Brown ruled in September that McCahren be tried as an adult, but the South Dakota Supreme Court in December ordered Brown to hold another transfer hearing - without testimony from a Rapid City psychologist.
Defense attorneys argued Tuesday that the prosecution had no case without the psychologist's testimony.
