Jim Olander Named Executive Vice President Of Canaries, Stampede
SIOUX FALLS, SD -

Sioux Falls Sports, LLC announced today that Jim Olander has been named Executive Vice President of Business Operations of the Sioux Falls Canaries Baseball Club and Sioux Falls Stampede Hockey Club. He previously served as Vice President of Broadcast & Marketing for both clubs.

Olander began his career at Sioux Falls Sports in 2003 when he was hired as Director of Broadcast & Communications for the Sioux Falls Stampede. In 2009, Olander was promoted to Vice President of Broadcast & Communications. He is currently in his 11th season as the “Voice of the Stampede” and will continue to call games for the Herd. He has called over 650 Stampede games in his career, including the Anderson Cup and Clark Cup championship seasons.

A native of New Brighton, Minn., Olander is directly responsible for corporate partnerships, broadcast, community and media relations, website and marketing for both teams. With Olander, the Stampede and Canaries have seen significant increases in sponsorship sales in the last year.

“Jim has been a valued employee for over ten years and has been instrumental in many layers of our operation,” said Sioux Falls Sports CEO/President Tom Garrity.  “We are proud of what he has accomplished thus far and feel he is very deserving of this promotion.”

A 2003 graduate of St. Cloud State University, Olander broadcasted the USHL All-Star Game in 2006 and 2009 and took home a First Place Associated Press award in 2009 in the play-by-play category for coverage of Stampede hockey.

The Stampede returns to action this Friday when they host the Lincoln Stars at 7:05 PM. It is also Holidays with the Herd at the Arena where Santa Claus himself is scheduled to make an appearance. Fans can meet Jolly Old Saint Nick and take a photo with him during the game as the Herd celebrate the holidays throughout the game. Tickets are available through the Sioux Falls Arena Box Office or any Ticketmaster location.
