Jaycees: Help From Community To Fund Fireworks

June 21, 2012, 5:10 PM by Katie Lingle

SIOUX FALLS, SD -

The Fourth of July celebration in Sioux Falls will light up the night sky after all.

The annual Jaycees Fireworks Show at the W.H. Lyon Fairgrounds will go on, thanks in part to several large donors along with the Grand Falls Casino.

Jaycees officials said Thursday the group will be able to continue its free Fourth of July show.

"It took the community as well because everyone went to Grand Falls Casino Resort to donate the $10 and then they basically matched it and gave them $10 in play money and we got the $10 for the fireworks," Sioux Falls Jaycees President Carrie VanOverbeke said.

VanOverbeke says any more money raised or donated yet this year will go towards next year's display.
