Iowa authorities are investigating the cause of an overnight fire near Milford.
Milford Community Fire Chief Jim Carpenter says crews responded to a fire at a duplex in the Moore Lake area around 9 p.m. Tuesday.
When crews arrived, they saw smoke coming from the eves of the home. Carpenter says the fire was quickly put off, but extensive damage was done to the unoccupied side of the duplex. According to officials, that’s where the fire started. The other side of the duplex suffered smoke damage.
Carpenter says no one was injured.
Crews were on scene until just before 1 a.m. Wednesday.
