LUVERNE, MN -
A Rock County Sheriff's Deputy could soon find out if he's facing criminal charges.
Twenty-eight-year-old Kyle Kreun is embroiled in a misconduct investigation. He's been on paid administrative leave since the end of December while the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension investigated the allegations.
Court documents filed during the investigation to obtain Kreun's cell phone reveal that Kreun admitted to a BCA special agent that he had sex with a 17-year-old girl on ‘two or three separate occasions.’
He also told investigators that he received explicit picture messages from the girl on his phone. The teenager also told officials a similar story according to the affidavit.
The BCA's investigation is now over and the full report has been sent on to the Rock County Attorney's office.
County attorney Jeff Haubrich has been reviewing the case all week and says it will likely be a few more days before he makes any final decisions about whether Kreun should face charges.
Haubrich did say that if a decision is made to pursue criminal charges against the Rock County Deputy, he would ask another attorney to prosecute the case so there would be no conflict of interest.
The Minnesota BCA says details of the report will be made public if no charges are filed, or if charges are filed, the report will be public when the case is closed.
