Hail Storm Spurs Record Building Permits

September 2, 2014, 11:25 AM by Anna Peters

Hail Storm Spurs Record Building Permits
SIOUX FALLS, SD -

The calendar may say September, but the June hail storm continues to set records in Sioux Falls. The city has issued more building permits than ever before, and half of those permits are for re-siding and re-shingling homes.

To give you some perspective, at this time last year, the city had issued 1,210 permits for re-shingling.  This year the city has issued 4,049 permits, and 1,869 re-shingling permits were issued in August alone.
