IA Bodies Identified As Missing Cousins

December 11, 2012, 5:35 AM by Kellee Azar

EVANSDALE, IA -

The family of two little girls who disappeared in early July finally have some answers.

Elizabeth Collins and Lyric Cook went on a bike ride in Evansdale Iowa on On July 13.  That was the last time anyone saw the two cousins alive.

Last week hunters found two bodies in the Seven Bridges Wildlife Area about 25 miles from where the girls were last seen.

On Monday, the Iowa State Medical Examiner identified the bodies as the missing girls. It could be weeks before a full autopsy is released.

A sheriff involved in the investigation of what appears to be a kidnapping and killing says the discovery of their bodies could allow for a break in the case that could help find a killer.
