Valentine's Day is the number one holiday for florists, according to the American Florists Society.
Earlier Friday morning, the Hy-Vee floral department was still busy taking orders.
The staff has been preparing for the last couple of weeks and they are ready for the large crowds on Valentine's Day. They have already made over 500 arrangements and are expecting more than 100 more.
If you haven't purchased your Valentine a gift yet, there is still time. Hy-Vee has plenty of roses, chocolates, wine and balloons for people to spoil their Valentine with.
According to the National Retail Foundation, more than half of the gift givers this year will buy candy, spending $1.6 billion.
