Hy-Vee Buys Three Sunshine Foods Stores

SIOUX FALLS, SD -
Hy-Vee is buying three Sunshine Foods stores, including two in Sioux Falls. The agreement to purchase the stores was announced Monday.
Hy-Vee will acquire the Sunshine Foods stores on West 10th Street and East 57th Street in Sioux Falls, as well as the Sunshine store in Windom, Minnesota. All of the stores will be converted to Hy-Vee Stores.
Under the agreement, Sunshine Foods will close its store on East 10th Street in Sioux Falls in mid-August. The company will continue to operate its downtown Sioux Falls store and stores in nine other communities: Brandon, Madison, Hartford, Tea, Lennox and Canton, South Dakota; Jackson and Madelia, Minnesota; and Rock Rapids, Iowa.
Hy-Vee officials are meeting with Sunshine Foods employees at the affected stores on Monday.
