An industrial park in Huron has been approved as a South Dakota Certified Ready Site, a designation that helps attract prospective buyers.
State Economic Development Commissioner Pat Costello says the certification of the Huron West Industrial Park will allow businesses to get information that will make it easier to select and develop a site in the park.
The program was launched last year to help cities, counties and developers promote commercial, industrial and technology-based sites that are ready for development.
Jim Borszich, president of the Greater Huron Development Corp., says the presence of a certified ready site will make it easier to attract companies to Huron.
The Huron West Industrial Park covers 61 acres and is certified and zoned heavy industry.
