The Meade School District Board of Education has voted to ban hunting on 500 acres of property surrounding Sturgis Brown High School.
Superintendent Don Kirkegaard says all weapons need to be banned from the school's property, which had been a popular hunting area.
The nine-member board unanimously approved the motion to post "no-hunting" signs on the property and to notify hunters that deer stands must be removed.
