Hundreds Expected At McGovern Service
George McGovern

SIOUX FALLS, SD -

People from all over the country are traveling to Sioux Falls to pay their respects to Senator George McGovern.  Many say the politician and world hunger advocate laid the foundation for the Democratic Party as we know it today.

Hundreds of people will gather at First United Methodist Church in downtown Sioux Falls Thursday afternoon for George McGovern's viewing and prayer service.

Open viewing of the Senator is scheduled for 1 p.m. until 6 p.m. with family present from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m.  The prayer service is scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m. which you can watch live on KELOLAND TV, MyUTV and KELOLAND.com.  We will return to network programming on KELO TV at 7 p.m. as the prayer service continues on MyUTV and KELOLAND.com.  It is expected to last 90 minutes.

The list of speakers for the prayer service includes Vice President Joe Biden and former South Dakota Representative Stephanie Herseth-Sandlin.
