Hughes County officials are making plans to fill the role of county finance officer in the wake of the current job holder announcing her plans to resign in March.
Shellie Baumgart has held the post for 33 years. County Manager Kevin Hipple says the commission discussed options at a Thursday meeting. He says that no decisions have been made.
Baumgart hasn't yet submitted an official letter of resignation. She is in the middle of her fourth four-year term, which runs until Dec. 31, 2014.
Hipple says the commission wants to begin putting plans in place so the position can be filled in early 2013.
