New commercial development may be on the way for the town of Hartford, just west of Sioux Falls.
A group of private local investors is working to bring in a hotel along Interstate 90 just southeast of the bowling alley. They are currently in talks with AmericInn Hotels and Suites.
The bowling alley closed in July and has been sold to another group of investors. The current management will continue to run the Midway Bar and Grill in the building, but an additional 10,000 to 12,000 square feet may be turned into a community or convention center.
Nothing has been finalized, but two feasibility studies in the last two years show the need for a hotel and meeting space.
