A man convicted of killing his mother at their Hot Springs home and hiding her body will be sentenced Tuesday morning in the southern Black Hills town.
Jurors in Rapid City deliberated just a couple hours on July 15 before finding 28-year-old Matthew Tornquist guilty of first-degree murder and the theft of $10,000.
Catherine Tornquist was 56 when she disappeared in October 2011. Prosecutors say more than 50 searches on land, from the air and in the water failed to locate her body.
